Dear Parent and Community Members,

It is with pride and excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as the newly appointed Principal of Foreman College and Career Academy. I am honored to have the opportunity to lead a school that has served this community well for many years.

From the day the Local School Council hired me, I have had many interactions with parents, teachers and students. From these observations it is clear that there is a collegial partnership between stakeholders to provide a high quality academic environment for our students. I look forward to nurturing these relationships and working with teachers and staff to provide a world class 21st century learning environment for every child.

I would like to share a bit of my educational background. I am entering my seventeenth year of dedicating myself to educating our youth. I began teaching high school students Mathematics in 2000. After five years of practicing the art and science of teaching and learning I became a Dean of Students. I was promoted and served as Assistant Principal for three years and then as a Principal for six years. I hold a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, and two Master degrees. One in Teaching and Learning and the other in Educational Leadership. I am excited to bring my knowledge and experience to Foreman to partner with you to ensure your child’s success in College and/or Career.

I plan to address the following levers to transport FCCA to a level +1 school that is the school choice for our neighborhood children:

  • * A Clear and Shared Focus
  • * High Standards and Expectations for All Students and Staff
  • * Effective School Leadership
  • * High Levels of Collaboration and Communication
  • * Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessments Aligned with State Standards
  • * Frequent Monitoring of Learning and Teaching
  • * Focused Professional Development
  • * Supportive Learning Environment
  • * High Levels of Family and Community Involvement

In collaboration with the teachers and staff, we will build upon the work of the previous administration to ensure that we provide a safe, secure, supportive, enjoyable, and academically rigorous environment where every student that graduates is College and Career ready!

I welcome and value your input, please feel free to stop in, call or email me to discuss concerns, suggestions or ideas to make this the best year ever at Foreman College and Career Academy! GO HORNETS!
